Since 2013, the DVM/SF2M workshop is devoted to enhance exchanges between French & German structural durability communities, especially dealing with ground transportation industries.

With the specialist conference »Risk Management and Capital Investment in Insurance 2022«, the »Versicherungsforen Leipzig« are organising an opportunity for specialists and managers from insurance companies to further their education through numerous lectures. The event will focus on the integration of ESG (Environment, Social, Governance investment criteria) risks, such as the Corona crisis or natural disasters, the effects of the Solvency II Review 2020 and innovative investment strategies. Our colleagues Dr. Stefan Mai and Dr. Ralf Korn from the department »Financial Mathematics« will present the calculation of the solvency capital using the Least Squares Monte Carlo method and its implementation. They will also examine how sensitivities can be implemented using differential machine learning.

MESHFREE can be used to simulate a wide range of situations as it efficiently adapts to moving geometry elements such as mixer agitators or the movement of free surfaces. In the course, participants will learn how MESHFREE can be used to simulate and analyze the paths that water takes when crossing a vehicle or when exposed to rain.

The Day of Mathematics is an information event of the Department of Mathematics at TU Kaiserslautern, which is primarily aimed at students of secondary schools of all grades as well as accompanying teachers and parents, but also at students. The Deep Learning Seminar is organized by employees from the field »Data Analysis and Machine Learning« in the department »High Performance Computing«. It is intended to give interested persons an insight into this large field of research and a deeper understanding. Everyone who wants to learn more about Deep Learning, Machine Learning or AI in general is invited. The event takes place regularly on Thursdays. This week our speakers Nico Weber (Fraunhofer ITWM, Division »High Performance Computing«) and Patrick Holzer (Fraunhofer ITWM, Department »Financial Mathematics«) present a lecture under the heading »Federated Learning«.

From July 18 to 21, 2022, the Institute of Mechanics and Marine Engineering (MUM) at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) will host a symposium for researchers working on various aspects of sensitivity analysis, optimization and optimal control of multibody systems. Our colleague Dipl.-Math. SciCADE, the International Conference on Scientific Computing and Differential Equations, is a biennial meeting dedicated to scientific computing using numerical methods. An expert from the department »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering«, Urs Baumgart, will be on site to give a presentation on »Optimal Traffic Control«.

The conference covers all major areas of laser and optoelectronics, imaging, sensing and optical storage, as well as optics-photonics design and manufacturing, and offers participants tutorials, invited sessions and workshops on current topics. Our colleague Prof. Dr. Georg von Freyman from the Division »Materials Characterisation and Testing« will give a talk on »Recent Progress in Terahertz Quantum Sensing« in the session »Infrared and Terahertz Technologies and Applications«.

Some of our MESHFREE Experts will be offering a digital mini-symposium on »Advances and Applications of Collocation Methods: Meshfree, IGA, Machine Learning for PDEs« at this year's Congress.

We are on site with our experts of the department »Transport Processes« at the most important event of the Society for Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM), the annual meeting, which is visited by hundreds of scientists mainly because of its scientific program.

We support companies in the chemical industry in both process and production optimization; our tools here are modeling, simulation and optimization (MSO). Manufacturers and service providers from over 50 countries present products for chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, energy and the environment here. This makes the world's leading trade fair ACHEMA the most important source of impetus for the international process industry.

The SQA is a science conference on technologies and algorithms relevant for superconducting quantum computers. Our colleague Alexander Geng from the »Image Processing« department will participate with a poster on »A Hybrid Quantum Edge Detector for NISQ Devices«.

In addition to the traditional topics of petroleum geoscience at IMAGE 2022, there are new thematic areas that highlight the latest scientific findings, market trends and opportunities. Our colleague Dr. Norman Ettrich, member of the division management »High Performance Computing«, will be present on site with a booth and inform you all around the topic »Seismic Imaging«.

The International Conference on Infrared, Millimetre and THz Waves is a multidisciplinary event that covers wide areas of physics and engineering and attracts the attention of a wide range of stakeholders. Our colleagues from the department »Materials Characterization and Testing« will be present with various talks and poster contributions, presenting state-of-the-art techniques and methods from the terahertz range.

The congress on digital technologies offers participants from business, research and politics the opportunity to discuss with each other, network and find out about current developments and future-relevant topics in the application fields of industry, mobility, health and the agricultural and food economy. Our colleague Dr. Stefanie Grimm from the department »Financial Mathematics« will present the »Bauhaus.MobilityLab« project and the »BML« app at a stand representing all project partners.

Our colleague Marcus Willems from the department »Financial Mathematics« will be present with a poster presentation on »Criminal Networks: Combating Billing Fraud and Corruption in the Healthcare Sector« and an interactive laptop demonstration.
