Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM"Design" is a tool which provides all essential functions for the generation of data-based models from measured data and expert knowledge as well as for the analysis of the determined models. Thereby, the necessary mathematical-statistical working steps are being kept in the background and executed automatically.
As a data basis, "Design" needs the tabulated measured values from a number of process characteristics, to be analyzed, as well as information about the feature types. The data format of the measured data can utilize several standard formats. an interface to an OPC HDA server is possible. The input of expert knowledge about interactions for instance is based on Excel spreadsheets.
Matrix plots, which juxtapose the values of the influence factors in pairs, yield an overview and an intuitive understanding of the provided data. In particular, outliers in the data can be detected.
