Every year, the Association of European Operational Research Societies organizes a conference on the topic of »Operational Research«. This year's conference will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our colleague Pascal Halffmann will be on site and give a talk entitled »Harnessing the Power of Quantum Computing for Multiobjective Optimization Algorithms«.

JuliaCon 2024, which is taking place in the Netherlands this year, is the largest annual conference on the Julia programming language. Our expert Firoozeh Aga from the division »High Performance Computing« will present the Julia user interface »DistributedWorkflow.jl«, which she developed.

Experts from the department »Image Processing« and division »Optimization« will present exciting results at the conference with their poster on »AI-Based Wood Species Detection in Paper and Fiber Materials for the Control of Global Deforestation«.

Our colleague Dr. Pascal Halffmann from the department »Financial Mathematics« will participate online at GECCO 2024 and will give a presentation titled »Harnessing Inferior Solutions For Superior Outcomes: Obtaining Robust Solutions From Quantum Algorithms«.

Our expert Dr. Maris Bauer from the department »Materials Characterization and Testing« will give a lecture on »Terahertz Technology for Industrial Applications« at the ITSS-TSaT 2024. The International Traveling Summer School on Terahertz Sciences and Technology will take place this year from 15 to 19 July in Vilnius (Lithuania). The program includes lectures, discussion rounds, company visits, group tasks, various laboratory visits and much more.

Our ALMSIM^® path generator software enables the simulation of capital market scenarios and pension plans. In particular, it helps to implement the latest legal and regulatory requirements.

The International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves this year is taking place in Perth, Australia. Our experts from the Fraunhofer ITWM Joshua Hennig and Mirco Kutas from the department »Materials Characterization and Testing« are on site with one presentation each.

SMM 2024 is the world's leading trade fair for the maritime industry. This event provides a platform for companies, research institutions and experts from all over the world to present and discuss the latest innovations and technologies in the maritime sector. Our colleagues will be presenting our simulation software MESHFREE at the joint Fraunhofer-Waterborne booth.

MESHFREE can be used to simulate a wide range of situations as it efficiently adapts to moving geometry elements such as agitators of mixing devices or the movement of free surfaces. In the course, we will give an overview of the tool and show how the software can best support your requirements.

InnoTrans is an important international trade fair for transport technology that takes place every two years in Berlin and is divided into five sections. This year, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is taking part with a joint stand, coordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute IZFP and the Fraunhofer Transport Alliance office.
