Machine and Deep Learning Seminar: Peter Lorenz from the division »High Performance Computing« at Fraunhofer ITWM will present a talk on the topic »Unfolding Local Growth Rate Estimates for (Almost) Perfect Adversarial Detection«.

Jurojin provides best availably statistical methods for durability engineers. The soft-ware provides accurate evaluations for engineers – using sophisticated statistics without requiring the user to have advanced statistics skills. At our technology day we demonstrate typical application examples and their efficient solution in Jurojin.

This one-week course, which we organize in cooperation with Fraunhofer FOKUS, provides an introduction to the basics of quantum computing and key algorithms. The course gives an overview of the basics of quantum mechanics, quantum gates and circuits, quantum programming and explains the most important quantum algorithms and application areas.

The Automotive CAE Grand Challenge promotes the exchange between companies, science and software development to solve these challenges. Our colleague Dr. Jörg Kuhnert from the department »Transport Processes« will be present at a booth of our distribution partner scapos AG.

JEC World is the global trade show for composites and their applications. Held in Paris, it is the industry's leading event, bringing together all the key players in the spirit of innovation, business and networking. Our department »Materials Characterization and Testing« will also be on site

Our division »High Computing Performance« initiates and hosts a user group meeting at Fraunhofer ITWM approximately every eight weeks to discuss topics related to C++ programming and the associated tooling environments (e.g., compilers, creation tools). In addition to lectures and open discussion sessions, workshops and tutorials are also scheduled. The meetings offer participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with each other.

Together with the Dresden Attorney General's Office and the Commissariat for Economic Crime of the Leipzig Police Department, we are organizing a workshop for those interested in the project »PflegeForensik«. At the International Conference on Automotive Technology and Intelligent Traffic Systems (VEHITS), engineers, researchers and practitioners exchange information on the current state of vehicle technology and intelligent traffic systems. Our expert Urs Baumgart will give a presentation entitled »Hybrid Optimal Traffic Control: Combining Model-Based and Data-Driven Approaches« at the event.

With the specialist conference »Risk Management and Capital Investment in Insurance 2022«, the »Versicherungsforen Leipzig« are organising an opportunity for specialists and managers from insurance companies to further their education through numerous lectures. Prof. Dr. Ralf Korn and Dr. Stefan Mai from the department »Financial Mathematics« give a tandem lecture on the topic »Solvency Capital Estimation with Linear Regressions and Neural Networks«.

Paul Gavrikov from the Hochschule Offenburg, Institute for Machine Learning and Analytics (IMLA) will present a talk on the topic »Can We Train CNNs Without Ever Learning Filters?«.

Machine and Deep Learning Seminar: Julia Grabinski from the division »High Performance Computing« at Fraunhofer ITWM will give a digital talk about the topic »Robust Models Are Less Over-Confident«.

About once a year, our department »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« offers a three-day seminar on the topic of »Load Data – Analysis, Design and Simulation«. The event is aimed at, among others, the target group of calculators and test engineers. [Only available in German.]

With Control, suppliers and users have a specialist event at their disposal which illuminates all aspects in theory and presents the current global range of usable technologies, processes, products and system solutions for industrial quality assurance in practice. We will be present with experts from our departments »Material Characterization and Testing« and »Image Processing«.

Machine and Deep Learning Seminar: Paula Harder from the division »High Performance Computing« at Fraunhofer ITWM will give a digital talk on the topic »Physics-Constrained Deep Learning for Climate Downscaling«.

Our course will help you gain a deeper understanding of the image processing workflow for industrial solutions. We cover the basics of image processing, including image enhancement, image restoration, image segmentation, and image analysis using ToolIP. Overall, this course will help you gain the basic knowledge and expertise you need to effectively use ToolIP for image processing in both industrial and research settings.

The online event series »Digitalization in District Heating – Software & Tools for District Heating Applications« offers a format in which companies can present themselves and district heating utilities can obtain information quickly and compactly. Our colleagues Dr. Jan Mohring, Dr. Matthias Eimer and Johanna Heidrich from the department »Transport Processes« will give a presentation entitled »Dynamic Simulation and Optimization with AD-Net District Heating«.

The annual meeting offers interested parties a platform for exchanging information on the latest research in this innovative field. A team from our department »Materials Characterization and Testing« will present on-site the Electronic Terahertz Measurement (ETM) technique, which is applied for example to aircraft domes (radome).

The NAFEMS World Conference 2023 is a worldwide community which focuses on engineering simulation and allows experts from different industries and technologies to exchange ideas. Our colleague Dr. Matthias Kabel, deputy head of the department »Flow and Material Simulation« will hold a lecture titled »Bending Simulations of CFRP Laminates«.
