Automotive IQ's 16th International Automotive Tire Technology 2023 Conference addresses the challenges of connectivity, electrification and sustainability and reflects where the tire industry currently stands. Our colleague Dipl.-Ing. Dipl.-Math. Axel Gallrein from the division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering«, will give a lecture about the »Vehicle Dynamic Simulation Case Study«.

At the digital event for the project »T-KOS«, the developed solutions will be presented in various lectures. Our expert Dr. Fabian Friedrich from the division »Materials Characterization and Testing« will present one of the demonstrators in a talk entitled »THz inline measurement technology: Automated imaging testing using a terahertz line scan camera«.

SPIE Photonics West is an international event centered around research on photonics technologies. The participants can attend plenary lectures as well as smaller intensive courses and exhibitions. Our colleague Georg von Freymann will participate here with a plenary lecture.

FILTECH is the world’s largest event for filtration and separation, where innovative technologies and research are presented at a major exhibition and a conference. Our departments »Flow and Material Simulation« and »Transport Processes« contribute to the innovations in this important field by providing modeling, simulation and digitalization. We will be there to present the latest developments.

The 16th Energy High Performance Computing Conference (formerly Oil and Gas High Performance Computing Conference) is an important meeting place for the energy industry to share challenges and opportunities in high performance computing, computational science and engineering, machine learning (ML) and data science. A team from our division »High Performance Computing« is on site in Houston as a Silver Sponsor with an exhibitor table and presentations.

The soft-ware provides accurate evaluations for engineers – using sophisticated statistics without requiring the user to have advanced statistics skills. At our technology day we demonstrate typical application examples and their efficient solution in Jurojin.

The 35th working meeting of the User Group will deal with current challenges of capital investment management. Current investment strategies of insurance companies will be analyzed and discussed. Our colleague Dr. Stefan Mai from the department »Financial Mathematics« will give a tandem lecture with Dr. Mohammad Assadolimani from RuV on the topic »Quantum Computing and ALM«.

The Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (German Physical Society) will hold its annual spring meeting of the »Section Atoms, Molecules, Quantum Optics and Photonics« (SAMOP) at the University of Hannover from March 5 to 10, 2023. Two colleagues from our department »Materials Characterization and Testing« will participate in the meeting: Mirco Kutas will give a talk entitled »Terahertz Sensing With Undetected Photons« and Björn Haas will talk about »Phase-Quadrature Quantum Imaging With Undetected Light«.

At the »TEXTILE FILTER« symposium, representatives from research, development and industry will exchange information on the latest innovations in the field of textile filter media. Our colleagues Dr. Dietmar Hietel from the department »Transport Processes« and Christian Mercier from the department »Flow and Material Simulation« will represent us on site at a booth and will each give a presentation at the conference.

The Tire Technology Expo is the central European conference and trade fair for tire manufacturing technologies. Our colleagues Alex Gallrein, Christoph Burkhart and Alberto Tanzi from the area »Mathematics for Vehicle Development« represent our institute on site with a short course on »Tire Modeling and Simulation: Introduction to CDTire«.

With MESHFREE a variaty of situations can be simulated, since it adapts efficiently to moving geometry elements such as stirrers of mixing devices or the movement of free surfaces. In the course, we give an overview of the tool and present how the software best supports your demands.

ModVal 2023 is the 19th edition of an annual international symposium on modeling and experimental validation in the field of fuel cells and batteries. Our colleague Jan Lammel will be on site at a booth with the poster title »Parameter Identification in a Newman-Type Model by Fitting of Electrochemical Impedance Spectra«.

Volta-X is a new, international platform for products, services and solutions from the energy industry. At the three-day trade fair with conference, business, science and politics discuss the requirements and solutions for the energy transition. Our colleagues Matthias Klein-Schlößl, Franz-Josef Pfreundt and Eugen Kamyschnikow from the area of »High Performance Computing« are represented together with Wendeware AG at a booth on site and present various projects from the focus »Green by IT«.

Prof. Goran Glavaš from the University of Würzburg will give a talk on »ChatGPT: If Scale is the Answer, What is Left to be Asked?« at 5 pm in the lecture hall. This lecture is open to the public, but is mainly aimed at scientists.

INDEX is the largest nonwovens exhibition and brings together all key players in the dynamic field of nonwovens, all geographical regions, all sectors of the industry and all supply chain players in one place. Our colleagues from the »Transport Processes« department will be present with various topics and a presentation.

This one-week course, which we organize in cooperation with Fraunhofer FOKUS, provides an introduction to the basics of quantum computing and key algorithms. The course gives an overview of the basics of quantum mechanics, quantum gates and circuits, quantum programming and explains the most important quantum algorithms and application areas.

The Automotive CAE Grand Challenge promotes the exchange between companies, science and software development to solve these challenges. Our colleague Dr. Jörg Kuhnert from the department »Transport Processes« will be present at a booth of our distribution partner scapos AG.

JEC World is the global trade show for composites and their applications. Held in Paris, it is the industry's leading event, bringing together all the key players in the spirit of innovation, business and networking. Our department »Materials Characterization and Testing« will also be on site

Our division »High Computing Performance« initiates and hosts a user group meeting at Fraunhofer ITWM approximately every eight weeks to discuss topics related to C++ programming and the associated tooling environments (e.g., compilers, creation tools). In addition to lectures and open discussion sessions, workshops and tutorials are also scheduled. The meetings offer participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with each other.
