[The event will be held in German]
[The event will be held in German]
For all math-enthusiastic students, the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) and the Department of Mathematics are organizing »Mathematics at Midnight« again this year – a digital event to get to know the university and the study program. In several short lectures, the participants will get an impression of what maths at university is like, what it can mean later on in their professional life, and which cool projects are running at Fraunhofer ITWM.
Our institute director Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel and one of our experts, Dr. Jörg Kuhnert (Department »Transport Processes«), will be there digitally and will present our work in their lecture »Why Do You Need Mathematics? Examples From Medicine and Mobility«.. From 11:45 p.m., Prof. Dr. Ralf Korn, consultant and co-founder of the department »Financial Mathematics«, will also contribute to the programme with a talk on »What’s the Point of the Stock Pension?«.
Video Series: »Tell Us Your Lautrer Math Story!«
The former Felix Klein scholarship holder Daniel Krüger is studying »Financial and Actuarial Mathematics« in the Master's program at the TU Kaiserslautern and works at our institute as a student assistant in the department »Financial Mathematics«. In our video series »Tell us your Lautrer math story!« he talks about himself and his math career so far.
There are many opportunities to join our institute: from student assistant to career starters or doctoral students to scientific employees – everything is possible!
