E-world Energy and Water is the meeting place for the European energy industry. International companies present sustainable technologies, intelligent services and approaches to achieving climate targets. The focus of E-world is on innovative solutions for the energy supply of the future – from generation, transportation and storage to trading, efficiency and green technologies.

Our Topics at the 2025 Trade Fair

A major topic of the »System Analysis, Prognosis and Control« department is resource-efficient plant operation supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI). This includes solutions from condition monitoring and predictive maintenance, which detect wear and quality reductions at an early stage, as well as energy-optimized plant control. At E-World, we will be using a drive train to demonstrate the use of a magnetostrictive sensor to monitor torsion and speed, as well as imaging techniques for condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and quality control to reduce scrap. We will also show how AI can optimize energy consumption, for example in the efficient generation of heat by heating plants for local heating networks or in demand side management in production.
The »High Performance Computing« division focuses on managing the energy transition as part of its »Green by IT« team. They are presenting their current projects and activities at the trade fair.
The »Financial Mathematics« department is presenting some of its projects in the »Energy Markets« focus area. These include, for example, the project »FlexEuro«, in which bids for a virtual battery are optimized across the short-term markets and the associated schedule is calculated. In the »EnerQuant« project, the department is researching a modern approach to solving large energy industry models: Here, the researchers are developing algorithms for qubit-based quantum computers and quantum simulators to solve a fundamental energy industry model with stochastic influencing variables.

Flexible loads will become more important in the energy system of the future. These will be price-sensitive in electricity trading, which means that a basic assumption of many models is no longer valid and we are developing new solutions.
