FILTECH 2024 is the international platform for the filtration industry and similar sectors. Participants can find out about the latest technological advances and innovations in this field on site in Cologne.

Our expert Dr. Ralf Kirsch, Team Leader »Filtration and Separation« of the department »Flow and Material Simulation«, will give a keynote speech »From Process to Operation – Digital Twins for Filtration«. Other colleagues from the »Flow and Material Simulation«, »Transport Processes« and »Image Processing« departments will also be on site at the trade fair stand and will also be giving presentations on their respective specialist topics.

The range of applications for our simulation tools and services includes the optimization of filter media and elements in terms of efficiency and service life. By incorporating the production and processing of filter media (e.g. meltblown process, pleating), we optimize the entire process chain from the fibre to the filter with computer support.

The simulation technology covers a wide range of topics, including the deformation of filter media during operation, electrostatic effects in nonwovens for protective masks, the service life of coolant filters for electromobility and reactive flows in porous media.
