»Felix-Klein-Modeling-Week 2023«

From Sunday, November 26th to Friday, December 1st, eleventh and twelfth grade students will once again have the opportunity to work on fascinating mathematical problems! During the »Felix-Klein-Modeling-Week«, the 30 participants will spend a week working in small groups on various mathematical projects together with supervisors and teachers. This time, they could choose between calculating the optimal load of a truck, teasing in a game of skat or the throwing distance of a catapult.

In addition to the project work, the participants can also expect a guided tour of the Betzenberg Stadium and a visit to the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM!

Here, the students will gain exclusive insights into the work of our institute and can find out about a career at the Fraunhofer ITWM.

The »Felix-Klein-Modeling-Week« takes place twice a year in Kaiserslautern and is organized by the »Competence Center for Mathematical Modeling in STEM Projects in Schools (KOMMS)« of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU). The program is funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education with funds from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
