Since 2013, the Ministry of Economics has organized an industry conference – Medtech RLP – for companies in the healthcare industry in Rhineland-Palatinate. With lectures, discussion rounds and an exhibition, the industry conference serves the transfer of knowledge and information, networking and the acquisition of new business/cooperation partners. This year's topic is »Personalized and individualized medicine of the future: new technologies and procedures.« Our colleague Dr. Alexander Scherrer, team leader from the division »Optimization«, will be on site with a presentation and at the discussion panel.

Tire Technology Expo is taking place for the 22nd time this year. It is Europe's most important trade show and conference for tire manufacturing technologies. The show provides an international, technical showcase for materials and equipment covering the entire spectrum of tire manufacturing. Our colleague Dipl.-Ing. Dipl.-Math. Axel Gallrein from the division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« will give a presentation on »CD-Tire«, our software for tire modeling, in the workshop »Tire Modeling and its Application in Tire and Vehicle Development«.

At the conference, participants will gain insight into how key players in the global automotive industry are currently using simulations and driving simulators to accelerate the development of new vehicles. We will be there with our experts Francesco Calabrese and Christoph Burkhart from our division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« and present some of our projects.

Two experts from our department »Financial Mathematics« will be on site and bring exciting topics to this conference. Women in Data Science (WiDS) Chemnitz is an independent event organized by members of the Junior Research Group »Fast Algorithms for Transparent Recommender Systems« (SALE), which provide outstanding women with the opportunity to present their important work in Data Science..

You can expect exciting job offers and information about the entry and development opportunities at the world's leading organization for applied research. The fair will be rounded off by five exciting presentations by Fraunhofer experts.

At the annual conference of the German Society for Non-Destructive Testing (DGZfP), interested parties meet for a joint exchange on non-destructive material testing. Please visit us at our small booth. Our expert Joachim Jonuscheit from the department »Material Characterization and Testing« will also give a lecture on »Microwaves« and »Terahertz«.

On May 23 and 24, 2022, we are organizing a workshop on »Mathematical Image Processing / Traitement d'image mathématique« together with the Franco-German University. A team from our department »Image Processing« will contribute to the exciting program with posters and talks.

Every two years, the »Tire – Chassis – Roadway« conference provides information on innovations in the development and design of tires, chassis technology and roadways. Our tire experts will be on site to present our work in the field of »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« and give a presentation on a hardware-in-the-loop simulation for virtual testing of control units.

ISC High Performance is the largest community gathering in Europe for High Performance Computing, Machine Learning and Data Analytics. Some of our experts will be present and contribute to the program with a booth.

The workshop offers scientists and industry representatives the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of Terahertz technology. The potential of the technology for analysis, testing and measurement tasks has been impressively demonstrated for various applications in recent years. However, a number of challenges still have to be solved for use in industry.

The goal of the event is to bring together PhD students and faculty members from Norwegian mathematics departments with representatives from industry. Our expert Dr.-Ing. Joachim Linn from the division of »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« will be on site and give an exciting keynote lecture.

The main objective of the regular congress is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest developments in scientific computing in engineering. Experts from our deparments »Transport Processes« and »Flow and Matrial Simulation« and from our division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« will provide exciting insights into their research.

EAGE is the largest geoscience event in the world. The conference and trade exhibition presents the latest developments in geophysics, geology and oil and gas engineering. One of our experts in the division »High Performance Computing« will be on site to present the latest developments in seismic data processing

The seminar »KL-Regelungstechnik« (Kaiserslautern – Control Theory and Control Engineering) is organized by our department as well as several research groups of the TU Kaiserslautern. Prof. Dr. Kathrin Flaßkamp (Saarland University) will speak on the topic »Optimal Motion Planning with Applications in Autonomous Driving«.

The aim of the Preconditioning Conference Series is to address the complex issues related to solving general sparse matrix problems in large-scale applications and in industry. Our colleague M.Sc. Falco Schneider from the department »Flow and Material Simulation« will give a presentation on »AMG Preconditioning for Nonlinear Systems of DAEs Modelling Degradation in Lithium-Ion Batteries« in the mini-symposium »Preconditioning Techniques for Application Problems in Computational Science and Engineering«.

Technology should serve people. With this guiding principle in mind, the Integrata Foundation is organizing a series of online lectures with experts from inside and outside the foundation to talk about current developments in AI and related issues. Our institute director Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel will give a keynote lecture on »AI and Mobility - Potentials of Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics for the Improvement of Traffic« in her function as AI pilot of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In this, she will be supported by her AI speaker Dr. Henrike Stephani.

This year the 11th Triennial Symposium on Transportation Analysis (TRISTAN XI) will take place. The TRISTAN Symposium is an opportunity to present the latest research results and applications in the field of traffic analysis and transport science. Our institute director and AI pilot Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel will give a presentation on »Line Planning for Different Demand Periods«. In addition, our colleague Dr. rer. nat. Alexander Schiewe from the division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« will give a lecture on »Energy-Optimal Public Transport«, with colleagues Dr. Michael Burger from the division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« and Prof. Dr. Anita Schöbel as co-authors.

This year, our experts from the division »Transport Processes« and »Flow and Material Simulation« will be on site at Techtextil. We report on our research and projects in the field of simulation of processes and products in the textile industry.

E-world energy & water is the industry meeting place for the European energy industry. The topics of E-world 2022 are innovative solutions for the energy supply of the future – from generation, transport and storage to trading, efficiency and green technologies. The teams from the departments »System Analysis, Prognosis and Control«, »High Performance Computing«, »Optimization« and »Financial Mathematics« will present their research in the energy industry.
