The Deep Learning Seminar is organized by employees from the field »Data Analysis and Machine Learning« in the department »High Performance Computing«. It is intended to give interested persons an insight into this large field of research and a deeper understanding. Everyone who wants to learn more about Deep Learning, Machine Learning or AI in general is invited. The event takes place regularly on Thursdays. This week our speaker Paula Harder (Fraunhofer ITWM, Department High Performance Computing) reports about the »AI for Climate Hackathon« under the headline »Climate, AI and What to Get Done in a Hackathon«. She won with her team at »The Forest Fire Challenge«.

The European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI) conference series is dedicated to strengthening the interaction between academia and industry, leading to innovation in both fields. These events have attracted leading experts from business, academia, and science, and have promoted the application of new mathematical technologies in industry. Some of our experts are also participating in the digital conference this year.

The seminar KL-Regelungstechnik (Kaiserslautern – Control Theory and Control Engineering) is organized by our department System Analysis, Prognosis and Control as well as several research groups of the TU Kaiserslautern. onas Weigand (AG Machine tools and control systems, TU Kaiserslautern) will speak on the topic »Robot Control and Identification with Elastic Joints«.

Das Hightech-Forum stellt seine wichtigsten Empfehlungen für eine künftige Innovationsstrategie der Bundesregierung vor und übergibt sie an die Bundesforschungsministerin Anja Karliczek. Auch wir tragen im Showcase über Quantentechnologie zum umfangreichen Programm bei.

[only available in German] Die Math-Talent-School richtet sich an Mathematik-begeisterte Schülerinnen, die Einblicke in die Berufswelt von Mathematikerinnen und Mathematikern bekommen möchten. Vor allem an diejenigen, die genauer wissen wollen, was »angewandte Mathematik« ist und Lust haben, sich mit anderen Mathematik-Interessierten auszutauschen. Hier haben die Schülerinnen die Möglichkeit, in Workshops und mit individueller Betreuung praktische Erfahrung zu sammeln.

The 7th Mobile Machines – Automation and Connectivity for Off-Highway Vehicles conference will provide a practical update on the challenges and solution approaches for driver and machine assistance, safety & security and data management for off-highway vehicles. This year, one of our experts, Dr. Christian Salzig, will contribute a presentation on the topic »In the fast lane with the digital twin«.

[only available in German] Die Verfügbarkeit von reichhaltigen Fahrzeugdaten nimmt seit Jahren stark zu – einerseits existieren historische Datensätze aus durchgeführten Messkampagnen und Flottenbeobachtungen, andererseits zeichnen moderne Fahrzeuge im Kundenbetrieb immer mehr Fahrdaten auf. Ziel dieses Seminar ist es, grundlegende Methoden, Verfahren und Techniken aus den Bereichen Datenanalyse und Maschinelles Lernen zu vermitteln und anhand ausgewählter Beispiele aufzuzeigen, wie diese den Fahrzeugentwicklungsprozess verbessern können.
