In der Fraunhofer Talent-School haben Schülerinnen und Schüler die Möglichkeit, in Workshops und mit individueller Betreuung praktische Erfahrung zu sammeln.

We are aiming at providing a stimulating platform for female researchers – networking is one of the main objectives of the workshop. Our colleague Firoozeh Aga from the division »High Performance Computing« will be on site at this event for our institute and will present a poster titled Automorphism Groups of K3 Surfaces Using Massively Parallel Methods.

Since 2013, the DVM/SF2M workshop is devoted to enhance exchanges between French & German structural durability communities, especially dealing with ground transportation industries. Our expert of the division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering«, Michael Burger, will give a presentation on Data Based Estimation of Vehicle Loads Quantities.

»Predictive Maintenance« is a popular buzzword when it comes to launching digitization projects in maintenance and production. From a maintenance perspective, predictive maintenance is the optimal strategy for condition-based planning of maintenance windows. From the production point of view, the underlying »Condition Monitoring« offers the lot-based calculation of the wear stock of involved production processes. A multitude of suppliers promise products, but only offer toolboxes that need to be used knowingly. In this presentation, our colleague Dr. Benjamin Adrian would like to show you the immediate advantages of »Predictive Maintenance« and demonstrate, based on current projects, implementations with customers, how to effectively put initial systems into operation.

Within the framework of the digital Asset Optimisation Day our colleague Elias Röger from the department »Financial Mathematics« will talk about »Math Markets Added Value – Profitable Marketing of the Flexibility of an Aluminum Electrolysis in a Crossmarket Setting«.

The 6th Healthcare Professionals Summit 2021 of the Skilled Worker and Qualification Initiative Nursing 2.0, aims to answer central questions such as: What are the new challenges for securing the need for skilled workers in nursing? What are the conclusions, particularly for continuing education and training and practical nursing care? And what are the consequences for the skilled nursing 2.0 initiative? These are the key issues of the future that this year's Skilled Workers Summit is addressing. Our colleague Alexander Scherrer from the division »Optimization« will be there.

Career Speed Dating is a blend of job interview and speed dating. In eight minutes, applicants and potential employers find out whether they are a good match for each other while the clock is ticking. Our colleague Dr. Petra Gospodnetić from the »Image Processing« department is on site for our institute at this event and is looking forward to meeting open-minded, international students.

The seminar KL-Regelungstechnik (Kaiserslautern – Control Theory and Control Engineering) is organized by our department System Analysis, Prognosis and Control as well as several research groups of the TU Kaiserslautern. Prof. Dr. Tobias Breiten (TU Berlin) will speak on the topic »Structure-Preserving Linear Quadratic Gaussian Balanced Truncation for Port-Hamiltonian Systems«.

The European Technology Platform for High-Performance Computing (ETP4HPC) regularly publishes white papers, i.e. short documents dealing with technical issues related to European HPC. One of the current white papers deals with quantum computing and HPC. ITWM expert Dr. Valeria Bartsch from our division »High Performance Computing« and two co-authors were invited to the webinar. They have jointly written the current ETP4HPC white paper and will give a presentation.
