As the leading global trade fair, Anuga FoodTec is the most important driving force of the international food and beverage industry again. It is the only trade fair in the world that covers all aspects of food production. The industry presents its innovations and technological visions at Anuga FoodTec – from processing, filling and packaging technology to packaging materials, ingredients, food safety and the entire range of innovations from all the areas associated with food production.

Resource efficiency will be the primary focus of Anuga FoodTec 2018. A more protective and at the same time more efficient use of natural resources will be the key competence of future societies. Exhibitors will be presenting a variety of solutions for strengthening competitiveness and reducing the use of energy, water and food in production. Numerous accompanying event and congress promgrammes will also illuminate the topic from various angles.

A team of our department »Transport Processes« presents its new software MESHFREE, which was jointly developed with the Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing SCAI. MESHFREE is an innovative software tool in fluid and continuum mechanics developed by Fraunhofer. In contrast to classical CFD approaches, the method is based on numerical points, which move according to the flow. Especially, moving geometry parts, free surfaces, phase boundaries, as well as large deformations are handled efficiently. Therefore, MESHFREE is well suited to simulate coating, extrusion, forming, homogenization, injection, dispersing, pressing, as well as stirring processes.
