Felix Klein Autumn School
Workshop for Felix Klein Scholarship Holders
Once a year, the Felix Klein Academy organizes a fall school for the holders of the Felix Klein Scholarship. Supported by mathematicians, the students learn how to solve problems using mathematical modeling and computer simulations during this week. The groups present their results in a plenary session at the end of the week.
The teams are made up of math students from different semesters. Their task is to translate a real-world problem into a mathematical one. They evaluate the model that is developed in the process and check the solution for its relevance. The participants could choose in advance between three projects with different topics.
The three project groups are supervised by PhD students of Fraunhofer ITWM:
- Dominik Becker from the department »Flow and Material Simulation«
- Dominik Leib from the divison »Optimization«
- Christian Jung and Tin Barisin from the department Mathematics of the RPTU, and Anna Nowacka, department »Image Processing«
