The annual meeting PAAT 2022 of DECHEMA addresses interdisciplinary future topics such as climate-friendly and sustainable production, electrification, CO2 and H2 management (e.g. generation, storage, use). Our colleague Prof. Dr. Michael Bortz, Head of Department »Optimization – Technical Processes« will be present with a presentation.

The VDI congress »SIMVEC« (SIMulation in VEhiCle) sees itself as a platform where advances in simulation technology and testing in vehicle development are presented and discussed. Our colleagues Dr.-Ing. Lilli Burger, Dr. Michael Burger and Dr.-Ing. Jonathan Jahnke from the division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« will be represented on site with several presentations and an exhibition booth.

TU Kaiserslautern is hosting an online conference on the topics of mobility, energy and data. Our expert in the field of »High Performance Computing«, Dr. Jens Krüger will give an exciting talk on the topic of »Next Generation Computing«.

In the FlexEuro project, researchers from the department »Financial Mathematics« and the division »Optimization« are developing models and methods for the optimal marketing of load flexibilities in various electricity markets. At the end of the project, the project team is organizing a workshop whose goal is to look at the topic of »Flexibility« from different angles.

Image processing plays a key role in many areas of technology for fast and contactless data acquisition. The »Image Processing Forum« aims to report on current trends towards solutions in image processing and to contribute to the professional exchange between the participants. Our colleague Alexander Geng from the department »Image Processing« will give a talk.

In the Fraunhofer project »UrWerk«, the Fraunhofer ITWM, together with two other Fraunhofer institutes, developed data spaces which clearly represent the history of materials as well as their interactions in complex material systems in the form of graphs and enable the coupling of analysis tools. These data rooms are adapted to company-specific requirements and thus provide easy access to the handling of material data. In the digital final colloquium for the Fraunhofer project »UrWerk«, employees from our division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering«, among others, report on their results.

On Friday, November 25, 2022, Prof. em. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Helmut Neunzert will be awarded the Palatinate Prize of the Palatinate District Association for his life's work. As a professor of mathematics at the TU Kaiserslautern, Professor Neunzert contributed significantly to the development of techno and industrial mathematics, drove the founding of our institute and led it until its admission to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in 2001.

The Winter School of the TU Kaiserslautern on the topic of »Computational Geometry« is held at our institute – a workshopt for students and post-docs of mathematics. The main topic of the teaching courses is the introduction to the next generation open source computer algebra system OSCAR. In addition, there will be an info tour through the Fraunhofer ITWM as well as an info session in the division »High Performance Computing«, moderated by our colleague Dr. Mirko Rahn.

Ria Grindel from the Department »Financial Mathematics« and Dr. Isabel Michel from the Department of »Transport Processes« will give two lectures on 29.11.2022 as part of the »Mathematics in the Profession« series of the Mathematics Student Representatives of the TU Kaiserslautern.

The ASAM International Conference addresses aspects of ADAS / AD development, with a focus on standardization. Our colleagues Tim Rothmann and Dr.-Ing. Michael Kleer from the division »Mathematics for Vehicle Engineering« will be on site with a presentation.
