MINT-Camp – Math-Talent-School 2024
[The event will be held in German]
Becoming a mathematician – yes or no?
The Math Talent School for MINT-EC schools is aimed at students with a passion for mathematics who would like to gain an insight into the professional world of mathematicians. Especially those who want to know more about what »applied mathematics« means and are interested in exchanging ideas with others.
During five exciting and varied workshop days, you will learn in group work how industrial questions can be answered in a project-oriented manner with the help of mathematical modeling, optimization and computer simulations. At the end, the teams present their results in a plenary session.
Information on mathematics studies and careers as well as various activities round off the event.
Our tip: The project days are an excellent way to find out whether you like the combination of mathematics and computer science.
At the beginning of the week, the students are allowed to choose one of the four projects they would most like to work on. This time the choice is:
- Cracks – To Find Them, You Have to Know What They Look Like! (Risse – Um sie zu finden, muss man wissen, wie sie aussehen!)
- Eat and Be Eaten (Fressen und gefressen werden)
- From Numbers to Epidemics: Which Infection Variant Dominates? (Von Zahlen zu Seuchen: Welche Infektionsvariante dominiert?)
- Prime Numbers and Applications (Primzahlen und Anwendungen)
