E-world Energy & Water is the meeting place for the European energy industry. International exhibitors present sustainable technologies, intelligent services and approaches to achieving climate targets to trade visitors. The focus of E-World is on innovative solutions for the energy supply of the future – from generation, transportation and storage to trading, efficiency and green technologies.

A team of experts from the departments »System Analysis, Prognosis and Control« and »Financial Mathematics«, as well as a team from the division »High Performance Computing« , will present their research in the field of energy management:

Our Topics at the Trade Fair 2024

A major topic of the department »System Analysis, Prognosis and Control« is predictive maintenance in the energy industry, i.e. the optimization of system effectiveness through machine learning. The team will use a demonstrator on site to show how artificial intelligence (AI) can be installed in the control cabinet of machines and systems. Using a sensor-monitored industrial fan, the team will use the demonstrator to show various analysis methods that can be used to better plan maintenance windows, avoid downtimes and reduce unnecessarily high energy consumption.
The field of activity and team »Green by IT« of the division »High Performance Computing« deals with the management of the energy transition. They will be presenting their exciting projects and activities at the leading trade fair for the energy industry.
The department »Financial Mathematics« will be presenting its field of activity »Energy Markets«. These include, for example, the project »FlexEuro«, in which bids for a virtual battery are optimised across the short-term markets and the associated schedule is calculated. In the project »EnerQuant«, the department is researching a modern approach to solving large energy industry models: Here, the researchers are developing algorithms for qubit-based quantum computers and quantum simulators to solve a fundamental energy industry model with stochastic influencing variables.
