The Digital Week Dortmund (diwodo) is the largest decentralized trade fair in the Westphalian region. The various stands are distributed throughout the city.

The event makes it possible for companies to find impulses and contacts in the digital economy and to present their innovations to Beucher:innen. Visitors:inside can exchange ideas with experts, discover new products and explore possible opportunities for cooperation.

Our experts from the »System Analysis, Prognosis and Control« department will be on hand to provide information about »Demonstrator Energy Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance«. They will participate in a panel discussion. It will take place on Wednesday 27.09.2023 from 11:00 - 14:00.

Efficiency optimization through artificial intelligence in production

On site, we present the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the control cabinet of machines and plants. Our goal is to provide companies in production and maintenance with straightforward solutions for monitoring and forecasting machine conditions. The implemented AI methods run on common edge devices (IoT gateways, DAQ converters, IPCs) on the DIN rail and transform captured sensor signals into easily interpretable and monitorable information.

The team uses a demonstrator to show various analysis methods based on a sensor-monitored industrial fan. The reason for these is to check for unusual effects that might cause misconfiguration, damage or degradation. With the help of these findings, maintenance windows can be planned more efficiently, downtimes avoided and energy consumption optimized.

Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance

Predictive maintenance is one of our cross-departmental core competencies on various levels. In particular, we work with the support of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Keywords here are Machine Learning (ML), neural networks and the Internet of Things (IoT) as a communication and data network.
