Dynamic X-Ray Computed Tomography: Challenges and Solutions
Referent: Prof. Dr. Jan Sijbers (University of Antwerp)
Abstract – Dynamic X-Ray Computed Tomography: Challenges and Solutions
Conventional X-ray imaging requires the object to be stationary (or fixed on the rotation stage) to prevent blurry reconstructions. Fortunately, even in case of unwanted object motion during scanning, blur can often be substantially reduced by modifying the image reconstruction. Alternatively, motion or dynamics within the object may be the interesting part (e.g. foam formation or fluid dynamics). In that case, the challenge is similar: i.e. to estimate the parameters describing the motion or dynamics. In this talk, examples will be shown of both categories along with possible solutions.
