The Control international trade fair for quality assurance provides suppliers and users with a technical event, that explores all pertinent aspects in theory and offers a highly practical presentation of current worldwide offerings for useful technologies, processes, products and system solutions in the field of industrial quality assurance. We are on site with experts from our departments »Materials Characterization and Testing« as well as »Image Processing« and present our research in the field of non-destructive testing with terahertz technology as well as virtual inspection planning by image processing.

Our Contribution

This year, the Fraunhofer-Allianz Vision is presenting the topics of image processing, optical and acoustic measurement and testing technology, industrial quality assurance, machine learning and artificial intelligence with many exhibits. Our two departments »Materials Characterization and Testing« and »Image Processing« will be there and present the following focal points in addition to many other topics from our partner institutes:

Department Image Processing

Virtual Inspection Processing for Adaptive Surfaces:
The exhibit shows a learning surface inspection performed by a robot on different geometrically complex objects. The inspection performed with the help of the V-POI (Viewpoint of Interest) software developed by the ITWM will be demonstrated on the exhibited demonstrator.

V-POI is a web-based solution that allows a completely virtual planning of a visual inspection system based on the digital twin of the inspected object, the surface parameters, and the physical parameters of the acquisition devices.
