From 7 to 12 May 2019, the STEM Games 2019 will take place in Croatia. The games unites all four STEM areas - science, technology, engineering and mathematics - and presents the games participants with the challenges and challenges we face in the 21st century.
Students compete in teams, both in the various STEM areas and in sports competitions. In addition to scientific questions from all STEM areas, they have the opportunity to represent their faculty in nine sports disciplines.
The program consists of two competitions with different disciplines: competition in problem-solving exercises and sports. Additionally, interesting lectures and talks as well as an entertaining program will be offered.

The scientific competition will take place in four arenas which have been chosen to match the term STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). The students compete in one arena each for their faculty and try to solve tricky tasks from the following areas in teams:

Every afternoon the solutions of the teams are evaluated, the best teams qualify for the final on the fourth day. There they present their solutions to a jury, which announces the winning team of the mathematics arena.
We are pleased to support the event not only as a project partner. Our colleague Petra Gospodnetic supported the students last year as team mentors of the mathematics arena at the competitions. This year she and Markus Rauhut, head of department »Image Processing«, will attend the games as jury members of the maths arena.
