Tire Technology Expo 2018 offers visitors the world’s premier technology showcase, with exhibits of equipment and materials covering the complete spectrum of the tire manufacturing process. We are on site with a team of the department "Mathematical Methods in Dynamics and Durability".

Abseits der Metropolen stellen sich ganz eigene Fragen: Wie können Fachkräfte in der Region gehalten werden? Welche mobilen Lösungen gibt es oder wie kommen Kinder und Jugendliche zu den Angeboten? Wie können nachhaltige Projekte initiiert werden, die nicht nur Eventcharakter haben? Mit diesen Fragen beschäftigt sich die Veranstaltung der ZukunftsRegion Westpfalz e.V. und der Körber-Stiftung.

[only available in German] Das DASt-Forschungskolloquium bietet seit mehr als zwei Jahrzehnten Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen und Nachwuchswissenschaftlern ein interessantes Forum, ihre Forschungsarbeiten zu den verschiedensten Themenfeldern des Stahl- und Stahlverbundbaus einem interessierten Fachpublikum zu präsentieren und darüber mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen anderer Hochschulen und Forschungseinrichtungen oder Praxisvertretern intensiv zu diskutieren. Die Sicht verschiedener Personen mit unterschiedlichen Perspektiven auf ein Thema bietet häufig neue Impulse und Lösungsansätze. Damit ist der Blick über die eigenen Grenzen hinaus essentiell für zukunftsfähige Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten.

The 5th International Commercial Vehicle Technology Symposium addresses different aspects of commercial vehicle development and production. With regard to energy and resource effi ciency, the topic of innovative drives with alternative fuels will be focused on. Another challenge is safety, reliability and life expectancy, which is becoming more and more relevant as part of automation. Not only is the improvement of the system components important for innovative commercial vehicles, but also new concepts for their operation must be found in order to increase productivity. Remote diagnostics or cloud solutions are also trends which must be pursued more intensively in the commercial vehicle sector. In order to improve the development and production process, it is important to use more and more powerful simulation tools and methods.

Energy Storage Europe will concentrate on energy storage of all technologies, from electric, electrochemical to thermal right up to chemical and mechanical storage. As an overarching industry get-together, the fair also interlinks science and economy.

[only available in German] Das AGFW-Symposium beleuchtet den aktuellen Wandel in der Fernwärmebranche und will Wege aufzeigen, wie der Betrieb von Fernwärmenetzen flexibilisiert und optimiert werden kann. Die Energieversorgungssysteme in Deutschland befinden sich in einem tiefgreifenden Wandel, weg von hierarchischen Versorgungsstrukturen hin zu dezentralen Netzen mit volatilen Wärmequellen. Um die zeitlichen und lokalen Schwankungen bei den regenerativen Energien auszugleichen und zugleich Versorgungssicherheit zu gewährleisten, gilt es, die vorhandenen Infrastruktursysteme anzupassen und die Sektoren stärker miteinander zu verknüpfen.

The workshop is an opportunity for young scientists, who are doing research in millimeter wave and terahertz field during their bachelor, master, diploma, or doctorate thesis, to get informed about the latest achievements in current terahertz-related research topics and make contact with other students.

[only available in German] Jedes Jahr im März trainieren die besten rheinland-pfälzischen Nachwuchsmathematikerinnen und -mathematiker der Klassenstufen 6 bis 13 für die anstehende Bundesrunde der Mathematik-Olympiade im »Mathe-Camp«.

The Gesellschaft für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik (GAMM) promotes scientific development in all areas of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics. For this purpose the scientists are invited to take part and to present their research results at the international scientific annual GAMM meeting in Munich, Germany.

Dazu zählt die Einrichtung von Leistungszentren. Wir feiern die Eröffnung der zweiten Phase unseres Leistungszentrums »Simulations- und Software-Basierte Innovation«.
