The new podcast episode is all about »p-values«, also known as empirical significance. The »Streuspanne« team uses statistics from the Wild West to explain what this is all about and how you can test whether a die is loaded, for example.
The p-values are one of the most important measures for deciding which studies are published at all and thus also determine, for example, which drugs are approved. You could even say that they are a matter of life and death. In practice, this leads to all kinds of problems such as the replication crisis due to false positive study results.
In the new episode, blogging statistics experts Dr. Sascha Feth and Dr. Jochen Fiedler discuss what p-values are all about. But even if you're already familiar with p-values, it's worth tuning in as they also discuss the criticism of this concept.
