Fair, Stuttgart / April 23, 2024 - April 26, 2024
Control – International Trade Fair for Quality Assurance
Hall 8 – Booth 8201
Hall 8 – Booth 8201
With Control, suppliers and users have a specialist event at their disposal which illuminates all aspects in theory and presents the current global range of usable technologies, processes, products and system solutions for industrial quality assurance in practice.
We will be on site with experts from our departments »Materials Characterization and Testing« and »Image Processing« at the joint booth of Fraunhofer Vision.
In many areas, the quality of a product depends on the quality of its surface. It is not easy to find a generally valid measure of quality for all the different surfaces. The MASC (Modular Algorithms for Surface Control) software system was developed to meet the requirements of a wide range of applications. It comprises a large number of ready-to-use tools and system components. The components are arranged in a modular structure and provide a suitable basis for fast and flexible solutions for almost any individual task in the field of surface inspection.
Analysis and Modeling of Micro- and Nanostructures
Another focus of our work is the analysis and modeling of micro- and nanostructures of materials using image data. The customer receives a 3D image, a geometric analysis, a model and a simulation of material properties from a single source. The software products of the MAVI family (MAVI - Modular Algorithms for Volume Images) are specialized in the quantitative analysis of three-dimensional images, e.g. from microcomputer tomography.
Terahertz Measurement Technology
The department designs and builds turnkey terahertz time domain systems for generating, detecting and analyzing broadband terahertz radiation. The range of applications extends from robot-mounted coating thickness measurement systems and high-resolution spectroscopy to measurement technology for ultra-fast electronics, in which extremely fast electro-optical converters and ultra-fast optics are combined.
Optical Measurement Technology
Activities outside the terahertz spectral range are united under this heading. The focus of activities lies in the application of the following methods:
These techniques are mainly used to measure the thickness of metallic or semi-transparent layers and to identify substances.
TeraTec – Application Center Terahertz Technology
The Application Center for Terahertz Technology provides customers from industry and research with the expertise of the Fraunhofer experts at the department.
